AboutVisitor Center

Who Am I?

I'm Jethro Chu, a BSN nursing student and I build software for fun. I'm interested in the space between healthcare, research, and technology.

Most of what I build starts with problems I've actually encountered, in hospitals, labs, or inside everyday tools that should have been easier to use. Nursing taught me to notice what makes systems less efficient.

This site is a small village of what I'm working on. When you look around, every building opens a real part of my portfolio: projects, experiments, writing, and the systems I'm learning to build.

Clinical Experience

Building a foundation in cardiac, critical-care, and telemetry nursing

Training overview

I am completing my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Azusa Pacific University and expect to graduate in December 2026. Through more than 560 clinical hours across healthcare institutions in California and China, I have cared for patients in cardiac, critical-care, pediatric, psychiatric, emergency, and medical-surgical settings.

What I build

Live software, mostly solo, mostly born from healthcare and research. Some serious, some for fun, all shipped.

  • NurseJetnursejet.org

A daily clinical briefing for bedside nurses. It distills new nursing research, guideline changes, and safety alerts into short briefs, organized by your specialty from the ED to the NICU, with the exact source citation and a bedside takeaway on every one.

  • An adult medication-math practice lab for nursing education. It covers med-surg and critical-care calculations through category drills, progressive hints, worked solutions, and full-length simulation exams.

  • A ranked arterial blood gas interpretation trainer for nursing and healthcare education. It combines continuous practice, live rating updates, global ranks, and intervention-focused feedback.

  • Lab Loggerlab-logger.com

I helped shape Lab Logger into a tool that turns messy notes, voice entries, files, and PDFs into organized experiment records. My focus was making the product feel simple, trustworthy, and fast enough for researchers to use in the middle of real work.

  • Rate My Hospital Foodratemyhospitalfood.com

A review site for hospital cafeteria food. Search a hospital, read real reviews, and leave your own star rating, with the best and worst cafeterias ranked the way a food app would.

  • Emotion Stock Market Gameplay the game

Everyone says not to trade with your emotions, so I built a game that does the opposite. Your facial expressions drive simulated trades in a chaotic browser market where every smile, panic, and overreaction can move your portfolio.

Under the hoodThe Ahwahnee

How this village works

The village is the front door. The reading and chatbot experience lives at /website, where every project and section remains directly accessible.

Phaser, the tilemap, and the art live in their own code-split chunk on the homepage, so the reading path never downloads a game engine.

Inside the canvas, everything is placed by hand. Buildings and trees depth-sort against the hiker, the signs are supersampled canvas textures so they stay crisp at every zoom, and the atmosphere (light rays, fog, chimney smoke, birds) is a handful of cheap particles, not a shader stack. The HUD, minimap, and rooms are plain DOM, kept crisp and accessible.
